How to work from Home with a dog
Hire a dog walker like Wags 4 Walks!! No I am kidding, well not really. If you are able to take breaks throughout the day it is important to exercise your dog. Start first thing in the morning and take them for a nice long walk. Once you return, set up a space that is their designated space. Put some toys and treats into this space so they know this is their space to play and sleep. This could be in your office as long as they will not disturb you and try to have you play with them. If you find they are wanting attention while you are trying to attend to work, you will need to set up their space in a separate area, not your office.
Take breaks to step outside and take your dog for a walk. If you can, try to walk at least 20 minutes. This is much more beneficial then taking 2 to 3 minute breaks within an hour.
Once back inside, if you are finding that they are still wanting to interact with you, find an alternative form of entertainment for them while you are on your zoom calls. This could be some frozen peanut butter in a kong, a bully stick or a toy.
If all of these ideas do not work it is time to hire a dog walker. A dog walker can tire your pup out by providing a different kind of stimulation and introducing them to other doggy friends!
